More than just a bookstore, this iconic spot has been a literary landmark since 1951. Writers of the Beat Generation once wrote, read, and even lived here. Being there was truly an experience.

This book was a beautiful emotional rollercoaster — fun, flirty, raw, and real. Tia Williams truly has a way with words. I found myself rereading lines just to soak in how perfectly she captured the characters’ emotions.

What stood out most? Every single character had depth. No one was just a background extra. Everyone had layers, flaws, and stories — and watching Eva and Shane grow through theirs? Whew. The character development was everything.

Reading has always been a powerful tool—to learn, to connect, and to stretch the imagination to dream big. Good Monday for a book review ! This book was an emotional roller coaster! One aspect of the book that stood out to me the most was how the crack epidemic had such a devastating impact on Black communities!!

I believe it had excellent storytelling, pacing, and character development. It really captures everything from familial love, grief, sadness, anger, struggles with poverty, jealousy, and so much more. I also believe it kinda came off as a typical “ hood story”.

Kennedy Ryan always writes deep and meaningful stories that touch the soul. I love how this book bought awareness for having autism and how everyone mind is beautiful in their own way. This representation helps to humanize autism, moving beyond stereotypes and misconceptions. I also enjoyed witnessing Soledad’s character development.

Some ladies had a few cons and agreed the ending was too fairytale and some things wasn’t realistic. If you love a good romance story that delves into characters, and their own growth, this is for you. This Could Be Us is about knowing we can stand on our own and the importance of self love 💕

This beautifully written novel is based on real events and tells the story of a young black nurse, Civil Townsend, who is assigned to care for two young girls under the age of 15, who have been sterilized without their knowledge or consent. The story is heartbreaking, especially when you learn that it’s inspired by the true story of the Relf sisters And can we talk about the cameo by Ted Kennedy? The way the author weaves historical events into the narrative is pure genius. If you’re looking for a thought-provoking and emotional read, add ‘Take My Hand’ to your list. We read this book last year! We love us a good self-help book.
This book is such a good motivator to be your best self and to help you see and love yourself as God created you. It was funny and real. She also included vegan recipes!
